The Top 10 Places to Take Kids in Miami

 


When you are planning your trip to Miami, make sure that your kids don't get left out. There are lots of people who plan their vacations and just assume that their children will come along, but if you want your little ones to have a great time as well, plan for the whole family.

Just because some of these attractions are for children doesn't mean that you won't enjoy them as well, so take some time and make sure that you consider what kind of fun you can have with your whole family.

The Everglades Alligator Farm
Do you have a son or daughter who loves the idea of dinosaurs or other primitive giants? Why not take them to see some contemporaries of the dinosaurs? The Everglades Alligator Farm has more than 2000 alligators in a wide range of sizes, and you will find that this is a great way to get a taste for the Everglades. You can check out nature walks or the airboat tours.

Biscayne National Park
Make some time to check out Biscayne National park, where you can check out the vibrant coral reefs from a great glass bottom boat tour. Take advantage of canoeing, fishing, scuba diving and snorkeling, all of which can be found here. You can also have some fun taking in the hiking and camping on Elliot Key.

Pinecrest Gardens
When you want to let your children experience the majesty of the Florida Everglades, take them to the Pinecrest Gardens. You'll get to see enormous banyan trees and amazing flowers. This is nature that your kids can get up close and personal with. Check out the petting zoo and the butterfly exhibit. For kids 2-12, there is the Splash n Play water area.

Miami Science Museum & Space Transit Planetarium
When you are looking to add an educational bent to your kids' Miami experience, make sure that you check out the Miami Science Museum and Space Transit Planetarium. This is a hands on museum, where you can check out the planetarium or the wild animal educational talks with equal ease. Call ahead and find out if there are any special exhibits when you are in ton.

Gold Coast Railroad Museum
When your child has a love of history or you want to give them one, take them to the Gold Coast Railroad Museum. This museum houses several historic train cars, including one that was used by Presidents. There are short train rides available and a huge toy train set that kids can play with.

Miami Children's Museum
If you aren't tired of museums yet, check out the Miami Children's Museum, which is great for younger children. Your little ones can touch and move everything and your kids will be pleased at a musem that is made just for them. There are plenty of exhibits all sized for children and they are centered on topics ranging from a television studio to a firestation!

Jungle Island
When fun is on the agenda, check out Jungle Island. With more than 22 acres at your disposal, you'll find that there are shows that feature tigers, exotic birds, and much more. You can look in on the giant reptile house and even meet two young orangutans.

Miami Metrozoo
When you are looking to see animals in a free-range environment, check out the Miami Metrozoo. This is one of the most highly ranked zoos in the world, and when you rent a Safari Cycle, you'll be able to see all the animals that this zoo contains. Check out the Giraffe Feeding Station for extra fun.

Monkey Jungle
When you enter the Monkey Jungle, you will find that you are walking through wire-covered pathways and seeing the monkeys run free. This is a great way to introduce your children to the way that animals behave in the wild and how they interact with each other.

Miami Seaquarium
When your child can't get enough of dolphins and whales, check out this wonderful place. You can see the Killer Whale and Dolphin show, and you can also take tours to meet coral reef fish and to check out rescued sharks, crocodiles, manatees, parrots and much, much more!
